"Up" sized wheels on a 911SC

Hi guys,

I just put a set of 17'OEM Cup 2 wheels on my C2 conversion. This required the installation of 1" and 1.5" spacers. Now that they are on, they look like they are literally tilting inward slightly! From the rear, you can see a slight diagonal slant. Is this normal? Possibly something like the suspension needs to settle in to the new height? I dunno....that's why I come to you guys!

I will say that I thought the all-black wheels on the white body might be much, but in my opinion, they look mean!

Thanks in advance,

Rob

lets see some pics! You might need a new alignment.

I think it is just the negative camber.... now that the tires are wider and out near the body line you see it better..... wheels look like this I presume /----\

Assume slanting in at the top, not at the bottom.

That's negative camber. Sounds like you might have too much for street driving (maybe good for auto-x, tho).

Drive for an hour or so, if still like that, get an alignment.

Your rear tires will wear on the inside edge pretty rapidly like that.

Nothing wrong with a little negative camber. I run -2.5 degrees in the rear. It was the only way to fit 8 inch wheels on my narrow body - and as long as you corner hard they wear down nice and even

Brad,

Yeah, it is just like your "diagram" lol....everyone else, thanks as always...seems like alignment might be a safe bet regardless. Since I have owned the car (2.5 years) , it has been mostly garaged undergoing the slow transformation into the frankenporshce. I have only put 1.5k miles on it and haven't had a thing, much less alignment done. I will be putting her in the shop mid-may to have SSIs installed and a brembo kit slapped on. I will get everything checked then.

I will post pics of the rear tonight and see what you guys think. hey, Smell....beautiful car...didn't you sell it?

Thanks again,

Rob
