SWB with yellow headlamps

I got inspired by this thread-

Alright, yellow fogs!

so last night I did them. very hard to not get runs/sags. even with light coats, but I finally got it decent. I think next time I will take off the lamps and do the inside. overall a very easy mod. also stuck on my new repro fogs. I think the yellow goes nicely with the blue. what do you guys think? Don.

and a little deep six porn.

Nice I gave a little inspiration! The paint is durable and looks WAY better than the film in my opinion. Great color combo, reminds me of my 02.

Looks great! I did mine 3 years ago (applied to the inside) and they still look good.

thanks for the comments! it'll be interesting to see if the cops get around to pulling me over. interestingly, I've already had comments about how easy it is to see me coming, in daylight without lights on. sort of daytime running lights from the sixties. the do seem to catch peoples attention, yellow isn't a color you're accustomed to seeing on the road.

Nice. Is that Aga blue ?

I went with yellow fogs - figured I would be pulled over less often.

Looking hot!!

How many 'coats' did you apply?
So you sprayed on the stain w/ lens still on the car?--did you mask around it?
Good job!

I like it a lot...I doubt the cops will pull you over what with the classic plates and all.

I have the very same lighting arrangement on my 911, except the lens are the real deal from Bosch. A few weeks ago I got stopped on the way to work for not having my headlights on. The ticket said that I was driving without headlights.

The Florida state trooper explained to me that my TTL driving lights were actually my headlights since they produced white light. Since my "headlights" were yellow they were actually my fog lights. Hence I was driving without having my headlights on.

For one second I thought of explaining to him that my yellow lights were really the headlights but then decided to just take the ticket. It could have gotten much worse. It was better to be just called an idiot than to be accused of having an illegal lighting system on my 911.

Outstanding! Love the look but can we talk about function? Any drawbacks to function for night time driving. Not meant to urinate in anyone's cereal as I am genuinely interested. I would run the risk of getting pulled over so I don't care about that.

The yellow headlights are really not that great for driving in the dark. If I did any amount of night driving I would go back to the clear lenses in a hearbeat.

Strictly looks over function for me! Loved the look ever since I saw the 930 in "Private Benjamin".

thanks for the comments guys! I'm loving the look.

took about 4 coats, I just masked off around the headlights about 2 feet. be warned, this stuff drifts! I had dust over the whole front end of the car, but it was just dry overspray and washed off easily.

haven't driven at night yet so can't comment on the lighting issue. always have the fogs anyway. it's more about the style than function in this case. I almost never drive this car fast at night. many deer live here.

as far as the coppers, I figure I can talk my way out of the light issue, I'm more concerned about the radar gun reading when they get me! it should be illegal for a car to be this much fun to drive.

as an aside, I just got an alignment and new tires. falken tires, 2-1/2 degrees neg at the rear and 1/2 degree neg in front. car stays planted very well.
