I have the 2in/1out. It is loud enough to set off car some alarms as I drive by, but not so loud as to be annoying to the driver or passenger. The 2in/2out gives you a few more hp
(3?) but is louder.

If you search you should find lots of photos and opinions.

I have a 2 in 1 out 60 mm SS sport Dansk muffler, it has a nice raspy sound to it. Engine is a 3.0L CIS with SSI's.

Are you considering an entire exhaust upgrade, or just muffler?

the sound level is dependent on C/R and cam choice, timing, etc. otherwise the same internals

ok, thanks.... if I go with SSI's or some other "header" system I want a 2 in 1 out that won't be too loud for street use... I guess that is pretty subjective. Right now I'm running a stock 3.2 with 964cam, test pipe and stock exhaust. I want to get the sound to be a bit more like the "old" 911's but not too raspy.

Dansk 1-in-2-out

I now have a Dansk 1-in-2-out on my '87 3.2.

The combination of the Fabspeed premuffler instead of the cat and the SW chip seem to work very well together.

Not too loud, kind of "muscle car" rumble/throaty at idle and very Porsche-like at speed only more so. Definitely not bad from inside the car.

It really sounds a lot like the samples on the Dansk web site.

dw1,
ok... I think the 2->1 with "headers" could be louder... but good to know the 1->2 is streetable with cat out. On my car just the cat out made it a bit louder and more "muscle car" rumbly at idle... sounds better when I open it up. Seems just a bit louder inside at low speeds... at high crusing speeds I think sound is about the same level.
My theory on why the Dansk's don't drone is that there are only compound surfaces on a Dansk and other OEM shape mufflers.... I think most if not all of the aftermarket mufflers have single dimension curves... causing resonation. Just a theory at this point. The mufflers guys may chime in and tell us the science of why droning happens on some mufflers...
