Question Tall Intake Manifolds

I'm considering installing taller intake manifolds on my 2.5L motor in an attempt to squeeze a bit more power out of it. Is it worth it and what are the pros & cons of this setup for the street? (The motor has Weber 40IDA's, 1966 901 cams, 90mm pistons, S distributor). Thanks for any assistance!

I doubt that the taller manifolds will help get more net power out of the engine ... but if more mid-range power, or an earlier boost to the torque curve is what you really mean by 'more power,' they might help, as would advancing the cams to the highest intake overlap timing value in the spec book. Of course, if you matched your current (or future) manifolds to the head port openings, that would benefit the top end, perhaps a couple of hp or so.

Hmmmm, OK I guess the tall manifolds aren't really going to do what I'm looking for. The torque comes on now at 4500RPM or so, and I'm satisfied with that. I'm trying to come up with a fairly simple way to add some more HP. What about different or modified heads? I've still got the stock 2.2L heads.

the tall units lend themselves to porting that would thin out the originals and cause them to crack.
