oil line backdate
I'm in process of backdating my oil lines for my header installation and have a question.
Where does the bracket on the end of this line attach too? It locates right at the engine oil cooler rubber hose. Thanks!

It attaches to a weld-nut that is on the engine-surround sheet metal.
Unfortunately the surround sheet metal around that weld-nut is flimsy, and the nuts commonly tear away. If yours is still intact, treat it gently. Always use a second wrench to hold that crossover pipe when tightening the oil line tube nut. Never rely on that little bracket to stabilize when tightening.

Hey guys, does this look about right? I'll bend the tab up to meet the bolt.

Yep - that's how it is on my '72.
Thanks for the look at your oil system - I'll be doing this in a week or two on the '77 I just bought...or is it a '76? Meh, all these midyear cars look alike...

Hey John,
Cool, thanks for posting that pic. I have my engine out and couldn't understand where these new oil lines go. Can you post a pic of the other oil line when you get it in? Thanks!

That looks like mine, had to force it a bit into place.
The angle of the oil line installation is a little different on mine, not sure how its supposed to be.

Discovered this thread, and have some questions. I'm dropping 3.6 with B&B exhaust into 87 chassis. Do I need same oil lines or there is more to it? Thanks in advance.
