Post O.T. How many of you are single care free bachelors.

I was just wondering how many single guys we have here. Its funny all my married friends envy me because I am single and drive a 911 they all tell me my car would be history if I had a wife...lol I had one EX girlfriend that gave me an ultamatum the car or her well that decision left me single..that was a while back I have always been a fanatic when it comes to cars.

I fit that bill; 25 year old law student with a 912E, a 928S (out the door this weekend, looking for a new pet project), no serious girlfriend and plenty of carefree-ness.

Case in point- Last summer, my friend Jay and I had a summer theme: "The Search for Hot Brainless Women". What a fiasco... It almost netted me a marriage. The result was my distaste for serious girlfriends!

Single guy here in the sense that I'm not married. My girlfriend hates my car because I'm always working on it. Since I have a 72 there seems to always be something else I can do to it. Every weekend for the last 5 months (barring rain) i spent taking the car apart and preping it for paint. When i get it back, another month putting it all back together. This will drive her nuts!

Me too.... But the career is starting to kill the carefreeness......

Maybe marriage some day, but the Porsche stays!

When I asked the guy I bought mine from why he was selling, he said the wife wanted other stuff.

Good topic,
I understand the fanatacisim with Porsche that often gets one in trouble with one's counterpart, but Regardless of possesions, I still have the bone for the females.

Good post. In a previous life, I was a young single guy with a new 911. In my current life? Hell, I was BORN married with a child. Still have a 911 tho. It's not new.

Not married...yet. Shacked up with the gf and her three kids about five years ago. My solution to any potential problems with her and the car? Buy her one!

Still single at this point. GF helped with the funds to buy and do repairs on the P-car. This is her dream car too. Almost broke up last year. Planing to buy her share out for the car. Good thing we are still together. That move save me some money.

Married here to a gal that loves my cars! When I took her to check out the 72 911E that I now own, she takes one look and blurts out "I love it, let's buy it!!" right in front of the owner. Made for some tough negotiating. Tonight she just convinced me that I should buy this 1958 Bugeye Sprite I have been looking at. I hope all of you get as lucky as I did when you get married.

Married twelve years this January. The best thing about being married is my wife likes all of my hobbies; cars, motorcycles, skiing, mountian bikes, etc.

She also like to auto-x and drives DEs.

Being single sucks.

Hey, Kurt...bugeye sprite? That was my LUST car when I was in high screwell. 948 ccs, 1400 pounds or so, and even with it's stock and antiquated suspension, with equal tires would out G force any 911 made today. Not to mention being basic, pure & simple, a TRUE "sports car". BUY IT! But only if you can afford it. My best buddy had a '60, then new. Gawd, memories come flooding back.
Who cares if the sprite could barely outdrag a new beetle, and had approx. the same top end? Man..driving that car? Thought I was the next Jimmy Clark.

28. Residing at Mom's place along with the 911, the Turbo AWD Eclipse, and two Lhasa Apso hairball mutts.

Ain't got time for the females with all the yard work, wrenching on the cars, playing with the pups and riding the cars.

The previous owner of my 911 (it's been one year of way more wrenching/learning than i've done with any of my other previous or current cars) said I wouldn't be single long. No such luck! I guess I should drive more and wrench less?

Nah, then i'd have to spend the $$$ on her and not on the 911. Where would that leave me? Less $$$, less restoration on the 911, and a girl who complains about the time spent on the 911. Few women understand the "car thing", as most of you know. Sounds like a BAD situation to me. Only way it'd work is if she had better lines than the 911 (and likes doing laundry and cooking for me)! What are the odds of that? Slim to none. Not too many women are as timeless as the Porsche 911.

jrdavid buys the girl her own 911. Wow, that's serious stuff my man.

I cross the line right around June 23rd, too, pbs911. A long-planned elopement.

She's got the right attitude:

Not me and glad of it. Happily hitched with kids, livin a boring life in the 'burbs. My better half digs our 930 even though the RUF tranny gives her fits in 1st and reverse.

Only thing that makes a brisk drive through great scenery even better is going over the story with your partner afterwards...
