ditch the brass cooler?
I bought a 72 row Setrab cooler from Elephant Racing and am trying to decide if I should run it in series with my 28 tube brass fender cooler or if I should just get rid of the brass cooler. Once I install the IROC bumper the brass cooler will get even less airflow than it does now so I'm thinking it might be better to remove it. If it were a Carrera cooler with fan I would probably keep it. Any opinions?
thanks

A few weeks ago at Putnam it would hit 240 after 15 minutes. I do a slow lap which brings it down about 10 degrees then do a couple more hot laps then just come off. I'm going to Mid Ohio Wednesday but my bumpers won't be here until later next week so the Setrab won't be in place until Putnam in June. Mid Ohio shouldn't be as bad though; the gearing at Putnam puts me at redline almost constantly from 2 to 9.

Also check for crushed oil lines running under the right side rocker if you haven't already. If they are crushed some, it'll restrict flow and render any cooler less effective.

When you install the IROC bumper, take out the brass cooler and only install the Elephant one. No pressure problems with oil having to go through 2 coolers and much better cooling with the new cooler mounted in the best location for air flow.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I've already fixed my crushed oil line and I know the brass cooler is getting oil because it's very hot to the touch. I haven't messed with the gauge nor dropped my engine to check the engine thermostat. The engine is stock and my hot track temps are on par with what others have experienced. Some people even have trouble keeping a track car cool with a Carrera cooler and fan.
