Another Auxillary Air Valve question
Did a search, there's a lot of good info on AAV.
But can't find this: At what temp should the AAV open? I know if you put it in a freezer, it should open. But what about higher temps? Should it be open at all at 50 degrees? 60? 70? |

the,
Are you talking about the Auxiliary Air Regulator ? The Auxiliary Air Valve is a can with a diaphragm and spring. It is a last minute, add on bandaid to improve starting and is not temperature controlled in any way. The Auxiliary Air Regulator is a temperature sensitive throttle bypass to raise cold idle speed and it is open at room temperature. There is no degree open vs temperature spec, what is important is how does the engine run.
