Well, I'm officially here in SoCal. I met up with Donald and Hester, as well as his friend Steph bright and early this morning. After some quick caffeine, Donald showed me one of the local roads heading away from civilization. He led on the way up, then I got to lead on the way back. Considering Ruby has spent her life in Texas and Missouri, this may be the first time she's seem an elevation change! :D

So was that Highland Valley Road the friggin coolest little Porsche run or what? The best part is, its right in your back yard. I grew up in New York's Hudson River Valley and there are some pretty twisty mountain roads in those parts but I can't think of any that have turns as crazy as some of the turns on Highland Valley Road. I was glas to hear that you appreciated the one on the way back that goes to the right, up a hill and then sweeps back to the left as the road drops back down. That one should have a name.

It was great!

We can call that one the "Edge of the World". That's what is looks like when you ocme up on it at speed!
