RSR project starting
OK I bought it after it just arrived in town and it was full of snow so now I know what I have. I've torn off the fugly side skirts and found steel rear flares. I've emptied the car and found some good loot. New momo race wheel, mounting kit, shift know and a few other boxes of stuff, what looks like a second wiring harness. and the gauges were all nicely packed up.
So first off I have an old set of front fenders with fiberglass flares.. some rust some bondo.. should I try to save these? I wanted to go with the vented front fenders but if I can media blast these and salvage them I will. Second some jack@$$ really buggered the rear wheel ( fake anyway) But I just want it off.. I'm thinking of drilling it out as the only way... any other suggestions? also can I close power windows and sunroof manually? were power windows standard in 1977? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1210527750.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1210528083.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1210528147.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1210528332.jpg |
get the front turbo fenders media blasted so you can see if they are useful
What width do you intend to go with for your RSR goal? the turbo (9' front/ 11" rear ) width is IROC/ RSR and tires don't cost a ton in 17" sizes. The RSR had 13 and 15" rear fenders and 11" front fenders your rear rockers and bumper are useless- just buy complete parts. some of the posters here have take off , or new unused parts |
Yes I hate the rear bumper so it will be leaving soon. here is my more pressing wheel nut issue. I can't believe someone would do this. The rim will be a nice airline holder in the garage.

I just love the term Imposter. No other term is as good. No one really builds a true clone. Tribute car is just so arrogant. Imposter captures the essence of these projects. I love it.
