Quick Fuchs question
I understand (?) that the external (visible) outboard projection of an 8" x 16" Fuchs is the same as that of a 9" x 16" - i.e. the additional width of the 9" is essentially inboard and from the side they would appear identical.
Does the same logic apply to a 8" x 15" Fuchs when compared to an 9" x 15" Fuchs or does the the 9" have a deeper external (visible) outboard projection and if so how much further does it extend. I hope that makes sense. Thx Martin |
Martin,
The answer is no, the 15 inch wheels are different in appearance. I'd have to look up the offsets to tell you what the difference is but it is very noticeable from looking at the two wheels. JR |
In the below link, I believe the 1st and 3rd from left are the 8x15's I have a few sets but don't have my camera handy. I can't find a picture but believe the 9x15 have a deeper inner ring. The other difference with the 9's from the 8x16 is that the lug holes on the 9's are recessed.

Martin,
I finally got around to sorting through some photos and here's a shot of a '74 Carrera RS with 8x15 and 9x15 Fuchs. The difference is easy to spot. JR http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1210797957.jpg |

Unlike the equivalent 16" wheels the visual difference is very significant - just what I needed to know. Thx Martin |
