Rota Fox tires size survey.

So here's what I'm running on my Rota Fox wheels.

Falken Azenis RT615's
225/45/17 Front
255/40/17 Rear

My query is this... I want to get a set of Toyo RA-1's, but they don't come in this same size set. The 255/40 rears I can get, but not the 225/45 fronts. Has anyone fit, or does anyone know if I can fit 235/45/17's in front and 275/40/17 in back without modifications to bodywork and/or oil lines and such?

Here's how it sits now on the Falkens:

Oh, and for an added question...

I CAN get Victor Racers in the same sizes I have now. Would anyone be able to comment on the difference between RA-1's and Victor Racers?

TruDesign Wheels or Lindseys?

On 17x8, no problems.

They're a bit cheaper right now, and I haven't actually heard anyone talk about the R888. I guess I could look into the latter.

I really just wonder how much rubber I can get away with sticking under my SC flairs.

I like the following setup on 7.5 or 8 x 17 in the front and 9 x 17 in the rear:

215/45R17 - front
245/40R17 - rear

I like this because, with Kumho Ecsta MX as an example, the overall tire diameter is, on average, 24.75" which is less than the standard 25.1" diameter with the factory 16x6&7 Fuchs. Will give you a little more response going through the gears. Plus the tire weights are the same with the standard 16 inch sizes and the ones I listed above.

As a FYI, I thinking about the following lightweight 17" rim package once they are ready at rims:

17x9 +48 5x114.3 16.4 lbs.
17x7.5 +48 5x114.3 15.4 lbs.

With the following adapter / spacers here.

I wonder if we could get a group buy on part or the complete package if there is enough interest?

Scott

235/275

Derek,
To fit the 275 in back you will have to move the oil line, we tried it without on mine on it was a no go. I ran into the same RA1 size issues and was told the 235 in front was a bit much, rubbing etc.
The Victors are a great tire, i do not have experience with RA1's though, i've hear good things about Nitto's too, i think Jack has them on BB2 or did. Here is mine with 225/275

AHHH!!! That's the answer I was looking for! Well, it looks like Victor Racers or maybe R888's then.

I used to use Victoy Racers on a 72 911S I had.

They are close to a track only tire though I did drive them to the track 100mi. Every thing stuck to them, I think I even found a small child stuck to them once.

They were a good price. My intuition is they do not wear as long as the Toyo's. I think the Victo's have a wear rating of 50 comped to about 100 for the Toyo's. I love to look of the R888's.

I think the 615's you hve are likely-one of the very of class sticky street tires and are about the best look tire out there.

I do love the 615's as well, but I want to get into R compounds for the track. I was thinking of getting another set of Rota Foxes just for track. I've been using them on the track and they seem to be holding up really well.

As well as the 615's stick, they don't even come close to R-compounds.
