I was getting a random engine stop and in turned out to be a broken solder in the DME unit, not the relay, the unit itself. Do a search for DME and solder and you can probably find it. I followed the suggestions and redid the solder joints. Keep in mind they are VERY hard to see, in particular if you have "over 40 eyes" like I do. It took bright sunlight to find them.
Good Luck

DME relay will do that - Cracks in the DME unit itself will do that - Faulty sparkplug wires will do that - coil will do that - even fuel injectors will do that - I usually start off with a baseline and start working up the expense ladder from there - so first of all check all your connections, grounds - then pull your plugs and make sure they are ok as well as your rotor - The do the DEM relay.

After that you start getting into some spendy stuff and service intervals.
