Passenger door won't open from inside
I am not really sure if it was like this since I bought the car in October 2007 ( Wife never rides in it, therefore I haven't really opened the passenger door too much from the inside). The problem is that, after I unlock it and pull the handle, nothing happens. However, the door will open from the outside with no problems.
The problem is, when I bought the car, the power window for the passenger side was working intermittently, but now is not working at all, so I cannot even put the window down and stick my hand outside to open the door. Every time when I have someone else in the car ( not often), I have to get out, like a nice gentleman, and open the door from the outside. Any ideas of what can be the cause of this? Now, the passenger power windows...that's another issue...probably bad switch. |
I had some trouble opening the driver side door on my '88 recently. It seemed to be sticky. What I found is the "Bowman Cable" that pulls the catch from inside had stretched. As a temporary work-around, I spaced the door panel away from the door using some washers.
I have a new cable on order via Pelican. Once I have the door opening issue resolved, I think I'll spring for fresh door panels and speakers. Just because the car spends most of it time on race tracks doesn't mean it can't be really nice. |
