Need new pull rod, where to get it...??

My pull rod that connects the pump with the cross-shaft has been cut somewhere in his history, and i can't reach the 114mm +-0.2 specified by CMA.

do anyone know a place where i can get it?

also, is there any other car which use this kind of rod? i mean, mercedes benz, VW or other because it will be easier for me to buy here in south america.

if it helps, here we have a lot of parts for VW beetle (the original one)

thanks!!!

Ariel

ok, sounds like you are talking about a rod for an MFI system...

can you post a pic?

got a part no.? (see catalog here or PET)

is it something that can be easily fabbed?

i forgot to specify.. sorryy.. :S

Yes, it's the pull rod that connects the cross-shaft with the pump of an MFI system.

i can find it on the PET, piece 90111006300 but it cost 17.25, and i think it's too much, that's why i am looking where to get used ones.

they are like this:

Thanks!

These are commonly available from the carburetor suppliers like www.redlineweber.com. Standard 8mm ball end. You might also check with Matt Blast at www.eurometrix.ws. These are not available from Pelican Parts (or you would buy them from Wayne). Of course, your photo is from Henry Schimdt at Supertec, you could call him too.

also look thru some used VW parts...

RWebb, do you know wich VW used this part? i mean did vw beetle with weber used it, for example??

thanks! :)

i sent an e-mail to eurometrix.ws and matt told me 210 + shipping for the complete set. It's too much money for me.

and mainly i need only 1 rod that can reach 114mm for the pump-crossshaft connection.

Call Henry, he has a box of used ones.

That would be henry Schmidt of Super Tech Performance in Fallbrook CA. I hate to recommend this guy because he's gruff, but he's good. So, I guess that means he's good and gruff. ;) :D

Trouble is that the ball cups get worn. You need good ends and you can buy the ends separately. If not using the LH threaded one. you can make the rod yourself. Shoot, you can make the rod yourself if you can find a LH'd die.

Pelican sells them.

That's what I ended up doing! One of my rods broke when I was adjusting it and I needed a new rod. Couldn't get a single one by itself and could not order it through Porsche. I have both taps and and then just I just put the ball sockets on the new rod. I think I still have some of the rod. If you can't find one for sale, I'll make one up for you, for real cheap.
