Pics of early (1972) clutch cable attachment - tranny end
Does anyone have a good, clear pic of the tranny end of the clutch cable attachment for an early 915? (i.e. pre-helper spring) When I disconnected mine to drop the engine, it's the one area I forgot to take pictures of, and when I tried to reconnect it yesterday and put load on it through the pedal, I obviously messed it up because the plastic trunion clip thingy broke. Before I do it again I want to make sure I'm doing it right!
Thanks!

"early 915? (i.e. pre-helper spring)"
That covers a bunch of wierd attachment methods: 1972-73 -- same pitchfork clutch arm as on the 901 '74 -- ?? '75 -- 90o bend in clutch cable outside of trans. housing, but vertical clutch arm '76, '77 -- vertical clutch arm there are some diagrams that will have me on the threads - Jim Sims posted one I know. Not sure who posted the other. I'll bet no one but Grady knows the whole taxonomy of these things. |

Bingo on the first one! Thanks!
Truer words were never spoken - that's why i'm shopping for a new one. I can't believe the original plastic one held up for so long. But one wrong adjustment with too much tension and SNAP - it's garbage. I've got a threaded boot, too, but I'm not sure where that one goes on - before or after the locking bit. Good thing to know that it's the same as the 901, so I can read up on the adjustment procedure for that. I was trying to work from the 101 Projects write up, which is for a helper spring type clutch. Thanks everyone!
