Engine number question
Hello,
can someone find out what is this engine: #655xxxx It's supposed to be a 1975 engine but don't match any of my books. Thanks, |
According to elferhelfer.de it is a 75 US California 911. Engine type 911/44. I have pasted the info from there for 75 US cars below.
911 S US 911/43 165/5800 225/4000 9115200001-9115202310 6450001-6452440 2310 alle US mit Calif. 911 S Targa US 911/43 165/5800 225/4000 9115210001-9115211517 s.o. 1517 alle US mit Calif. 911 S Sporto US 911/48 165/5800 225/4000 s.o. 6459001-6459135 s.o. Sportomatik 911 S US Calif. 911/44 165/5800 225/4000 siehe 911 US 655xxxx-? s.o. 911 S Sporto US Calif. 911/49 165/5800 225/4000 s.o. 6559xxx-? |
I think it's a typo. If you have the books then you see 645 and 665, so it would be easy to mess that up.
|
655Yxxx would be 911S/Carrera California.
The 911S and Carrera had the same engine for California. If Y = 9 then the engine is a 911/49 165 hp for Sportomatic, California. If Y = 0 to 8 then the engine is a 911/44 165 hp non-Sportomatic, California.. Best, Grady |
Good to know. Patrick Paternie didn't know that. ;)
So, if Smog Man sees 655---- then he's gonna go lookin' for thermal reactors, huh? |
