Fitting Driving Lights

I'm hoping to fit a set of under bumper driving lights to my 1970 911T, and had a quick look under the bumper to see what to expect.

I understand there are 2 No. bolts on each cover, but how easy/hard is it to get at these in order to get them off, and are there brackets to accept the lights under?

Thanks as always....

Take the covers off and look. That's what's supposed to be there for the factory foglights.

Rust could have taken it's toll, though.

When you say 'driving lights' do you mean fog lights? A lot of people do, thinking that fog lights are all yellow.

Driving lights are pretty rare and are operated differently.

Thought it was the pattern of the light that makes them fogs or driving lights, not the color?

In France, for instance, yellow headlights were pretty common at one time, weren't they?

Take the covers off to see, usually rust is the big problem behind there, otherwise pretty straightforward.

Original fogs are about $300 each new, still pricey used. But there are repros that aren't too bad. You may have to drill a hole in the inside bracket to mount repros.

Was pretty easy on my '73, but it already had the wiring there (maybe they all do).

...and you can get amber or clear fog lenses.

Porsche Crest

Here is a picture of the chrome (metal not plastic) with glass lens fog/driving lights we sell as an option to the $300+ originals. We do not represent these as "replicas" or "reproductions". Just a very affordable option, only $34.99 a pair plus shipping. Amber and Clear available. Yes, a single 1/4 inch hole needs to be drilled in the existing lamp mount.

Thanks. The original owner picked the Hella fogs as a factory option and had the dealer (Dick Barbour) install the Carello driving lights. The driving lights are wired through a three-position switch (off, on, on with the high beams) that looks just like the switch for the fogs - very neat. The driving lights are H1 justlike the headlights and are on relays.
