Please help identifying these fuchs for a 911 or a 930

Just purchased some fuchs from a reputable rennlister and pelican member that were supposed to be 86 930 take offs, i have concerns as they are stamped 7 x 16 fronts with 44 in a square box. I assume this is the offset and 8 x 16 rears with a 45 in a square box. These have a 205 front tire and a 245 rear but the rear seems a bit big. I thought the 930 wheels were 7 x 16 with an offset of around 23 and the rears should be 9 x16 with an offset of15. thanks. oh yeah, the part number is identical 911.361.020 then the offset

7s&8s are correct, as the 9X16s didn't start coming on 930s until 1987. The 23mm offset 7s are 944 Turbo, you also have the correct 7s as the numbers match the numbers on one of my sets of wheels that came off a 930. Hope this helps.

The 2-digit numbers (44 & 45) in the squares are the last 2 digits of the part number - ie the wheels are:

911.361.020.44 - 7x16

911.361.020.45 - 8x16

The offsets of these wheels are 23.3mm* (7's) & 10.6 mm (8's)

* All 7" Fuchs have an offset of 23.3 mm (apart from the 7R wheels which had an offset of 49 mm) - it's the 8x16's which had a different offset depending on whether they were 911 fitment (10.6 mm) or 944 fitment (23.3 mm)

Nope, not correct. 9 inch rears first came in 1986. And the correct offset for a 7 inch front for a 911 is 23.3. The 944 Turbo wheels that you are thnking of are the 8x16, with a 23.3 offset, as opposed to the 10.6 offset of a 911 8x16.

According to the Red Book, for 1986 models:

Rear wheels were increased on all Turbo models to 9Jx16 with 245/45VR tires

I have no personal knowledge, just passing along what's in print (can't verify that its right, but javadog's info concurs).

Well, I have to confess that I bought a new 930 in 1986, and I still have it, so I am fairly certian that I am correct. :D
