Wtf???

It's been that way for years....

nice, used targa tops go for around $600. I just sold one for around that and it was excellent.

$1000 gives you a professional rebuild on your top.

they (Porsche) probably have 3 in the back room which is why they are so pricey, and will most certainly stay in the back room for a long time to come.

It would be interesting to know if they've ever sold one.

Dan at Carsinc sell assembly parts for a reasonable price. I replaced my front arm for $75. Others wanted $400 to $700 for the samething

You can buy a car for that, and just throw the rest of the car away if all you need is to keep the top.

They are 8 grand new here so that price is right. There have been a spate of targa top thefts in London - one guy's 964 was on the verge of becoming an insurance write-off because of the new cost of the roof.

There has been talk of a carbon fiber hardtop, but I have yet to see one actually built. As has been mentioned, Dan Petchel can make your look like new for $900 so I'd do that. Maybe someone from Pelican can tell us if they have ever sold one?

Never, at that price, and I would bet on it too!

Cheers

Dan did a complete restoration on my top a few years back for under 900. Not sure what today's price is but 900 would be about right. Best thing I ever did with my Targa besides drive it! ZEF, if I were you I'd drive it over the border and send it off rather than shipping to/from PQ.

Syl,

They used to have a part number for a complete chassis, a bare body that you could buy and bolt your old parts on in case of rust or an accident.

Believe that its NLA but was a very nice idea!

you even see the price for a crankshaft. OEM Porsche....around $8,000. At least for the early cars.
