Paintless dent removal in/around NYC?
Guys,
Got some nice door dents in my passenger door. Don't even want to get started on the idiocy of my fellow man. I've searched and the consensus seems to be that a) the art of paintless dent removal is just that - an art; and b) there are many more of these guys running around socal than the east coast. Anyone familiar with an outfit in NYC/Long Island/Westchester/New Jersey? I'm based in manhattan so would prefer someone closer. Thanks very much.

Since your car is an 89 you might be ok. A word of caution how ever, A week after I bought my 86 Coupe my daughter accidently dropped her scooter and the handle landed on the enginge lid leaving a dime size dent. Aargh! I took it to my paint guy who does paintless dent removal. He did a great job on a ding I had on my Passat but he did not want to work on the Porsche because it had original paint and when he started the process he felt like the paint would start cracking ever so slightly because the paint is 22 years old. He did a great job (perfect paint match) repainting my headlight rings, lower front hood and front bumper so I took him for his word.
Good Luck, Leo 86 Coupe |

cant help you with a name.. but a warning maybe.. i used to live in manhattan. i had a VW and had all the dents removed and car looking brand new! 1 week later, i had about 5 dents in it and the garbage men dragged garbage bags across the hood leaving what looked like perhaps Bo or Luke Duke slid across the hood with a metal file in their back pockets. i gave up in NYC. its like war against the selfish and careless there.
my 83 SC has a ton of dents from PO probably commuting to work or children in the garage with bicycles. I have NOT been able to find anyone upstate that can fix em. they say the metal is too thick and paint too old.... If it works out for you, let us know

There is a place in Basking Ridge, NJ that did a great job of taking the dings out of my car a few years ago. Beverly Hills something or other, they are a detail shop. That said, there are probably some capable shops closer to you. check with local high-line dealers to see who does the dents on their cars.
