Wheel Help
I just received some wheels with an early engine purchase that are American Racing mags...7x15s and the only markings are an "F" stamped on the back rim of the wheels as well as an "18" stamped on one wheel. Is there a date code stamped anywhere? And are they magnesium or aluminum? Does anyone have pictures of these installed on long hoods? They appear to be roughly the same weight as the 7x15 fuchs...so they would be an interesting option for an early car. These are black centered with a polished rim, although they would look good in a satin RSR look, or even a light grey.

That black car....
...looks great with those wheels! A chrome lip with a satin medium grey spoke looks very nice. I wish black didn't get dirty so quickly...I'm really bad about washing cars, and I live in the mountains and have a dirt driveway.
Anybody know how to determine a date on these wheels? Or a value? I'm going to get this set refinished regardless of whether or not I use them...although I'm thinking that they may have beat out the sixes. I have a set of "polished" sixes that will be shipped next week. The car will be back from the painter a few days later, so I can mount the AR mags on one side and the sixes on the other...and see what looks better. Thanks for the pics. Speedo |

Mg on the black car, Al on the silver car in the pics above. Note the detail around the hole for the center cap.
