intermitent failure 1983 930 euro

i've been having an intermitent problem with car shutting down suddenly as outlined on my other post. i narrowed the promblem down to moving wiring harness in engine compartment towards firewall. when i do this i can get the car to shut down. the rear fuel pump makes a different sound and may be shutting down as well. what could cause this to happen? is there connection up there for the wiring harnees or just connections a t the fuel pump. any info would be greatly appreciated.

the rear pump connections are in the engine compartment between the CD unit and the shock crossmember.

You might have gotten a better response by posting this in the 930 forum....BUT... You can gain better access to that area if you take off the I/C ( intercooler). I have a feeling though that you have not done much maintainance on your 930. If that assumption is correct, do not do anything to your car... take it to a shop and let them do it. There are seals on your I/C and TB ( throttle body) that are very easy to pinch, and if you do, your car will run like crap...and you will have no idea why....

turbobrat, you're right, i just got the car and i'm just finding my way around it. i'm probaly going to have a mechanic look at it but would have liked to find the root of my problem so i could eliminate the chance of breaking down on the way to the shop. thanks again for the heads up.
