Seattle Pelicans, assistance please

Help is appreciated.

I'm looking for someone close to help me do a diagnosis of what I think is an air leak. While driving home the other day, my car started running rough; idle RPM dropped to about ~600 and if I blip the throttle it wants to pop. It starts, but idles poorly. This came on all of a sudden.

If someone can come take a look/listen and let me know I'd appreciate it. Not asking for more than diagnosis help as I'll do the dirty work.

I live in Magnolia.

Would help us if you'd let us know what car you have...

SC? could be the pop off valve, etc....

Pop off valve (if you have one) is the first thing I would look at. See if it's closed, or if the epoxy around it has cracked.

If you don't, and you car backfired recently, it may have damaged the filter box.

Wish I still lived in Magnolia. Take it down to Gerber Motorsports, which is down by Chinook's and have them look her over.

+1. If you are on Magnolia, you can probably just coast the car to their front door.

Britwrench's sense of humor is a bonus- Comes at no additional cost.

Gentlemen,

No pop off valve. I have one that I'm going to install though.

I've checked the fuse for the O2 sensor, all spark plugs are good. I'm checking one thing at a time with limited time on my hands trying to troubleshoot this thing.

Appreciate any help or list of things to check over.

Boats

Damn sorry to hear that the boats in your life are air cooled! I live in the Pacific Northwet and "water cooled" rules here. As it does on ever race track in the world!

I strongly urge you to engage in this conversation with John. If anyone might solve your problem quickly, it is John.

John, thanks for your help. Disconnecting O2 Computer relay made no change. What do I check in sequence next?

RLJ, sailboats do have small water cooled engines, but that's it...and I'm happy about it.

Thanks John

Well, if you're following this post, John Walker squared me away.

The issue was the 02 computer relay. I bought a new one from him after he said to try that, plugged it in, and the car is running like a champ again.

John is a personal friend and I've talked to him many times. About cars. He is a man of few words. I take most peoples' remarks and suggestions with a grain of salt. I dismiss some of the stuff people tell me. Twice I either dismissed or failed to understand something John said to me. Both times it was a mistake. Today, when John talks about Porsches, I listen very carefully.

Double the PLUS REP for John Walker. He has many many dollars of mine, and I consider it an investment in the car and not "money spent".
