Electric Door locks working incorrectly
I'm hoping someone has seen this problem in the past.
When I first got my car and started fixing things back in 2005, I noticed that the plug for the microswitch in my passenger side door was unplugged. So I plugged it in, only to find that my passenger side door lock would only lock the car door electronically (turning the key clockwise) and the driver's side door would only unlock the doors electronically (turning the key clockwise). If I turned the key counter-clockwise in either door, nothing would happen electronically for the door locks. So I unplugged the passenger's side door's microswitch plug and I was able to lock and unlock each door electronically, as I believe I should be able to. So I tacked that one up to a faulty microswitch in the passenger's side door. So almost 3 years later, I'm finally in that door with a new microswitch and several other things to fix inside the door. I install the new microswitch and now I have the exact same symptoms. The passenger's door will only lock and the driver's side door will only unlock both doors electronically. I've trouble shot this three years ago, and I can't remember why I thought it was the microswitch. Has anyone else seen this problem before? I left both of my doors apart hoping someone may be able to point me in the right the right direction. -Matt
