Any reason I shouldn't remove it? Pics...

I do not use my AC and I want to also remove remove the 'RAD' or condensor under my whale tail. My thinking is weight plus let more COOL AIR in. Any reason I should remove it not such as water leaking in though the grill while washing?

Cheers!

Only thing that happens when you remove everything is you lose weight!

I like the sound of that....I have been meaning to lose some weight....

Cheers!

I might be interested in your condenser when you remove it. Mine only spans across 3/4 of the opening. It is an '84, but a RoW. If you're interested, please PM me.

If I didn't have to deal with 70-80% humidity, I'd most-likely get rid of mine too. 90 degree temps and 70% humidity sucks. At least my wife and daughter think so...

Thanks,
Mike

David,

I did the same thing you did and I haven't had any problems with rain so far. I don't think the condenser can stop rain in anycase.

It does not weigh much, and you will have A/C oil leaking from the lines for a while. That's about the only downside I see. Mine is on the 'to be removed' list ... it's the last leftover from the AC system.

im going to charge my system soon. if it doesnt work or last long, im going to remove my ac system as well. i dont care about the 100F+ heat here...its a dry heat!?:eek::D

I thougt all there was in there were gases. I had very little leakage but then again my AC was running warm. I beleive I may have had a leak.

Exactly. Until temps reach into the 100s, 15% humidity is much more tolerable than what we get on the East Coast. Once temps rise into the 100's though, it doesn't matter - it's still freakin' hot! :D

There was no gas, oil, other liquids, solids, or other in my hoses when I pulled mine.

I was just tired of always having to swing the compressor aside when doing valve adjusts so I just removed it. I decided to pull the condenser as well.
