Brake light mystery ? Please advise
Here's the rub... I just backdated my car and put it back together (just enough) to drive it to the painter. Ergo, I did not bother reconnecting headlights, front turn signals, anything up front. The rear end though is stock and was not messed with except for the license plate lights which are disconnected.
My question is: Should I have brake lights ? Because I don't... I got turn signals, rear driving lights, reverse lights, all works, good grounds, good #15 fuse, just no brakes... Now I don't see anything on the electrical diagram pointing to brakes needing the headlights wired up... My thinking is that my brake light switch is toast (it was triggering the handbrake light on and off for a year) and this is a coincidence - I may have not had brake lights in months and not known it... Do you think it's related to the front end not being wired up ? Thanks !!! |

You can test the brake switch by bypassing it. Test to see if you have power to one side also.
