DME test, repair/exhange?

Any recommendations on sources who test, repair or exchange DMEs? Any sources in Maryland with spare DME that I could try in my son's 911 to determine if his is faulty? Thanks...

For local help...potential DME loaner, go join the Dorkis in your area..

Search DME repair. Someone posted a company that specializes in fast DME repair...I don't have the link handy right now. They do all Bosch ECU repairs.

Find another car with the same DME and do a swap. That's the easiest way to test it. Repairs are available through our host (although being on the west coast is a hassle if you are on the east side like me).

I can't find the info at the moment, but I remember Loren posting that certain conditions can damage a loaner DME too. Might want to be careful about that.

What Wavey said (and that was part of my post on Rennlist). There have been several who have warned about that, so swap the "potentially bad" DME into the good car and see if the problem follows the DME instead.

I interpreted the post to be regarding the DME itself, not the DME relay (that's $30 and everyone would be prudent to have a "good" spare in their car anyways).

ps: If Mike is referring to the DME relay, that's easy: Pelican order

That is why you put the suspect DME in the car that runs and see if it works there.

Right. The previous posts didn't make that clear, therefore my post.

You could have a sensor issue (load) that could be shorting the DME drivers,..you wouldn't want that to happen on your friend's DME!!!!!!!!! Just like the guys said: put your DME into another car and see what shakes..NOT the other way 'round.

Best,

Doyle
