Paintless dent removal - wow!

I got such a good deal on my 83 Cab that the couple really shallow dents didn't really bother me. Then, on the way home from meeting a friend from lunch I drove past a dent removal place (DentTech in Waltham, MA) to have them take a look and give an estimate. We found 3 shallow dents and 1 small crease on the driver's side door edge. The price seemed reasonable (he actually gave me a nice discount for being a drop in and wanting the business). Anyway, I was extremely pleased with the results. I absolutely can not see the dents on my Moss Green Metallic car.

I had never tried this process before and I understand that some folks do it themselves. But it was short money for a top notch job.

cheers,
Michael

My old shop did it on Ferrari's.....no complaints at all. The right PDR guy is the "violinist" of the auto body world....

That's awesome. My paint is really good but I also have a few dents. Mind me asking what he did charge for your 3 dings? I'd certainly take a drive up to give him business.
Thanks

Wondered about the dents on the rear engine lid where others have closed the lid with their heavy palm and put a few dents. Anyone know if this area can be fixed with this method?

PM sent Mark.

oregonmon, find one of these companies and have them check it out. They'll let you know what they can do. The dent I had on top of my right fender was golf ball sized and right at the top on the curve. I thought for sure there would be some evidence when he was done but I can not tell where the dent was!

Cheers,
Michael

im calling the 3 local places in the next week. ive got some really nasty dings on my otherwise excellent original paint. a couple of them are too close to the edges and im pretty sure they cant be fixed but im hoping the big ones in the middle of the doors will come out.

ive so far been told by the local porsche dealer and one of their salesmen that has an SC that the metal is too thick.??? i guess he was wrong according to what ive read on this board

When you find him, let me know. I've done some superficial dents just to see how it works. I determined that you need the proper training, although I did OK. I'd like to watch a pro.

I haven't called yet but this guy came highly reccommended from KevinP73 who runs a nice little Porsche restoration shop in Van Nuys California who is also a Pelican. He said to call:

Rick Gebhard
DENT TECH

818-331-6070

apparently he's mobile too.

Good luck and let us know.

Scott

I found a guy that comes to my office and charges $75/panel. He actually is coming to remove a big crease tommorow. I should take some pics to document.

What they can do these days is pretty amazing. They can take out some surprisingly huge dents.

I will be getting a small dent taken out of my door.
As far as "too thick" goes, my magnetic signs with my autocross number will stay on the door of my 300c at 100mph (tried it just for fun..), however, on the 911 you only have to sneeze and they fall off! So I put them just behind the rear window (they still occasionally fall off)..
