Question on Compression testing
Hi guys. I conducted a compression test on my 2.7 engine last night, but ran out of time before completing #6 cylinder (and what a PITA that #6 is by the way). If I go back to complete that last cylinder, can I leave all the other spark plugs in place while I test #6? Or do they all need to come out again? I wasn't sure if it mattered.
Also....after reconnecting everything last night and restarting the car, it seemed to be stumbling a lot and I could smell gas. Does this sound like I just didn't get a good connection on one of the plug wires? thanks! |
Yes you can just do the one cylinder without removing the other spark plugs, just make sure you take measures to insure the engine doesn't start!
I would recheck to make sure you re-installed the plug wires in the correct order and that you got good connections on all of them. |
Yep, I'll make sure to unplug the CD and also the fuel pump relay....
thanks Kurt!! |
