Best I can do for now, i hear a tapping around the valve cover area, there is an oil leak coming from this area as well, but i think its the oil return tubes....

is this a normal tapping sound? Also the car is running like it has an anchor around it, I thought it might have been a FI issue I was having now I think it maybe something else? leakdown came back good and the car has not been driving much since I got it back from the paint shop

Hmmm, sounds like what I had. It was my AC Compressor Clutch.

If you have an AC, try taking off the fan & AC belt to see if you hear the noise. It will definitely isolate it.

When was the last time you did a valve adjust? Perhaps perform another one and take a look at the rockers.

One thing you can do which is extremely effective is get a long handled screw driver and poke it on to bits around where you think it might be - rocker covers, cylinders (underneath), heads, underneath, AC compressor, whatever.
I bet you fairly quickly narrow the source down - to an individual rocker/cylinder/whatever.
You stick your ear to the other end of s driver - the handle bit - not the pointy bit.

Ac compressor is out, so i know its not that.....

From the video, it sounds like a non-consistent hammering, possibly metalic.
-The first thought was an exhaust leak (look for carbon around pipes).
-Could also be a plug cap that's not fully seated on the plug, and arcing.
-Or possibly an intermittently sticking valve or valve spring. On a daily driver (without the external oil sump/radiator), I'd say add a bottle of Rislone or half quart of trans fluid and idle it for 10 minutes before changing the oil, but you don't want that stuff remaining in the Porsche engine. Not sure what is recommended here.

To find the suspect cylinder, use an infrared lazer thermometer on each exhaust header to see if they are all burning at the same temp. The cold one will be the culprit.

Thanks John

I was going to take it for an oil change and to fix the oil return tubes but now I find myself not wanting to drive to the shop in case there is an issue
