Refinishing Deep 6's

Can anybody tell me how the original factory paint line around the rim differs from the the more common "set back" paint line? Al Reid explained it to me but I didn't get it. What I did understand was that the factory brought the black out farther on the lip and today people like to keep the black line in further so you see more anodized lip .. and the depth of the rim. Can anyone shoe photos of the difference?
