Rear 993/964 coilovers on 911?

Has anyone tried seeing if the shock/spring assembly from the rear of a 964 or 993 is about the same length and mounting as a mid year 911? I would really like to replace my torsion bars with coilovers in the back, but dont want to spend millions buying racing coilovers.

Mike-

Lookup beepbeep and his recent thread on his project. He's putting rear coilovers in his 911 too.. There is a kit from GroundControl that can be used on you stock struts, I think it put him back $250 for the entire setup. Good luck

umm... so look like there really no way I can just take the shocks/struts coil over from a 965 and bolt on to my 911 huh.
Thanks guys.
