Dirty Inner Rear Wheel Hub a Problem?

When R&R'ing my axles, i've come across some pretty dirty rear wheel hubs on the inboard side. I'm just curious if this is an issue, or normal on the Carreras? Here's a pic of what i'm talking about:

On the other side, I just cleaned up a bit of the dirt, but it looked like grease when it came off, so I just swabbed some more wheel bearing grease on the inboard outer edges where I thought i might have taken some off.

Mine are completely disgusting... I think it may be a factor of the shape of the control arm not allowing the area to be washed clean in the rain.... its a dirty area with the brakes and stuff as well.

Thanks, Michael. I just swabbed out some old crusty dirt and put in some new grease.
