Muffler exhaust tip..??
Hi there..
yesterday i left the car to remove one of the added exhaust tip that the previous owner added to my precious muffler. But after all the work finished, i went to the carshop, and i found that the bad side has been cut and sealed. I mean: My car has 2 tips (right and left side). Watching pictures, i saw that the left one is the correct. And my mechanic, cuted the left one .I actually have the right one working, and the left one has been completely sealed (nothing comes from there). Should i go again and exchange the tip to the correct place, and then seal the other one.. or there is no difference..?? Also, i'm planning to buy a complete new dansk muffler next year to replace this old one.. Thanks, Ariel

Dual tip mufflers will run with a single outlet as long as it has baffles that allow flow to that tip. Single outlets will increase back pressure and decrease exhaust noise. SOME engines actually run BETTER with less flow with a single outlet.
My Fuel Injected motor likes it better and so does my ears. Motors with carbs, big valves, high compression tend to need more exhaust flow from dual outlets. I see that you have a 2.4 MFI. You should see a better running engine with the second tip sealed.

Sorry, I misspelled it. "Valance", the short piece sheet metal that is under the bumper that covers the muffler. They usually have a cut out on one side for the muffler exit. Typically on the (left) driver side.

ahh i seee
i have both sides cut, so i think i can use either of them.. I don't know how's the inside of the muffler, but i hope it's designed to use any side, or the worst, i will have to cut againd and change the tip, not a big deal..
