Cool 911 project car

1st post. I have been reading the forums and think this is a great site. I am planning on a 911 project car. I am wanting to find a late 70's to early 80's 911 SC roller, and am curious as to what I might expect to pay. I would rather have a car that is complete, or has everything except the engine. I thought if it had a bad engine in it, it would give me something to start with. I would really like to find a 911 SC Widebody, but figure those might be hard to find as a roller. Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated, or leads

Thanks,
Emerald

No matter what car you get, it will become a project car.. I just bought an '84 911 Carrera Coupe and am in the process of cleaning it up. Aside from the issues I expected it to have like: needing a tune-up, oil change and some TLC. I also found a few more such as: random bolts missing, hinges bent or broken, some wiring issues.

If you aren't a mechanic when you start, you will become one when you are done.

I am on the road and my cell is dead. I will have to try tomorrow. Currently in Florida on business. Was interested in year and price of your car. Is it a roller?

Thanks.

Thanks Kevin,

That is one beautiful car. It is probably out of my price range, but I will try and catch you later today. My cell is 615 483 8030 if you have a good time to talk.
Thanks again for your time and response.

Cheers,
Emerald

Hey Joe,

I do shoot. I am currently down in West Palm Beach doing some shooting for an realty investment firm. Hope your wife liked Franklin. It is a cute little town. Nice to be near Nashville, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Cheers,
Emerald

Emerald,

Welcome to Pelican! I would give you some different advice. You should buy a car that is good mechanically and maybe in need of consmetics. Buy an SC as you should get the best bang for the buck, especially a 78-80 MY. I have some motives is what I am suggesting, mainly that you can drive the thing and join us on our MTFR's sooner. In seriousness though, buy one that you can drive first, and that might help keep you motivated through the process.

Shane

Shane,

thanks for the input. I wouldn't mind getting one that ran. I also think that having a complete car would be best for getting back into wrenching. Maybe I will get lucky and find one. The group sounds fun.

Cheers,
Emerald
