Are 911T engine & serial #s in a differenet place

I have what's supposed to be a 911T aka 914/6 motor in my garage and the serial and engine number aren't in the usual places.....like my 2.7, 3.0 and 3.6 are or have been....

Did they do something diff in the early years? I'm looking for 901/36, 37 or 38 and a serial number...nada....

If it's a replacement case, it won't have a number.

Yep....that I know. Just checking to see if the 2.0 was differerent....

914/6 engine number is by the breather cover toward the flywheel end of the motor.

914/6 engine cases have their numbers on the top of the case by the thermostat.
This makes them visible through he engine lid.

Nope not here....

Yep...that's where they were, by the thermostat.....http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1215744822.jpg
