no spark after new battery install

recently put in a new odessy 680 battery in my 79sc. It ran fine before the battery was replaced other than the dead battery. now with all of the wires connected up i get no spark. the thing will crank fine and is getting gas but no battery voltage at terminal 15 on the cdi. I am sort of at a loss as to what could have changed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the replacement of the battery was the only job done...?
And you're sure that you don't have spark...?
Causes can be...

A bad pickup inside the distributor , or broken, loose or corroded wires from the pickup to the ignition module.
A bad ignition module
A bad ignition coil
A bad rotor or distributor cap (cracks or carbon tracks that are allowing the spark to short to ground)
Faulty ignition switch.

When I swapped my last battery I had a couple weird things happen and what I finally found was one of the ground wires that attaches where the battery's grounding strap connects to the body was hiding up under some other wires and the windshield washer hoses.

I couldn't even see it. My wife stuck her head down in the battery box and was able to see it.

Check the ground cables carefully.

Thanks guys. Yeah the battery swap was the only thing done since it was last run two weeks ago. i will double check and clean all of the grounds in the boot but i have gone over them pretty thoroughly. is the cdi circuit grounded or fused anywhere other than behind the electric panel in the engine bay? any connection points in that main hot wire that may have been jiggled loose? The flow diagrams i have are not much help in locating the actual grounds or connections.
It seems like it is something specific to that circuit as key on gives power windows, radio, lights, signals etc. etc. power.
best,
felix
