Simple Question About 911sc Heater Hoses
I cant seem to get the correct photo showing me the heater hose layout from the heat exchander upto the blower. my 101 book was left in florida, i have an '83 911sc cab with a/c, the hoses are blocked off for summer but i want to set them back inplace, the left on seem straight forwad, the right it looks is a little smaller to run under the ac unit, then at both ens it shows adapters to make the fit at the end, my questions do the hoses run in one continual piece from blower to exchager and clamp on, or are there special pieces that strap to the exchanger then come thru the sheet metal and then mate to the hoses? in specific i/m talking of the two you clearly see on the right and left on the engine compartment. thanks

For my 1979 SC, I went straight from the blower to the elbow that is attached to the heat exchanger. Not sure that is correct, but it works fine.

On my 83 (at one point):
Left side: blower -> aluminum/paper hose -> short metal piece that's a part of engine tin -> another piece of hose, all aluminum -> HE inlet. Right side: blower -> blower-to-small diameter connection piece -> smaller diameter all aluminum hose (goes under AC compressor) -> small-to-large diameter connection piece -> large diameter aluminum/paper hose -> through hole on engine tin -> HE inlet.

Thank you very much, you nailed it just as i thought, do oyu thing there is a way to by-pass the decrease to smaller pipe to go under the a/c and go for a longer normal size diameter over the a/c and down? Somehow i don't personally think so or i would have seen it done, maybe it just looks to crappy? thanks again, it seems the simple things are often more difficult to get answered.

I have an '83 SC Cab - not that I think they are that different from the other SC's, but I will post some pics of the engine compartment is that helps?

I actually just bought the hose from blower to passenger HE, one piece large diameter paper/aluminum from Pelican last week - listed as for cars without A/C. I used it to make smaller pieces to connect backdated air outlets to HEs. This particular piece had the best length per price ratio.

![]() Just saw this picture in the classifieds. It looks like a larger diamter tubing to the passenger side. I'm sure it can be "massaged" easily to fit under the AC compressor.
