I was hoping if someone could help me determine if the engine is original to the car.
i'm looking at 1970 911T i don't have the vin number yet, but the engine number is 6105689 (type 911/08) is what the seller sent to me. Thanks, also is there a book that i could buy or online website that i would be able to look up these things on my own. thanks again

According to the Porsche Red Book that is a US 1970 911T with a sportomatic tranny. Chassis number should be between 9110100001-9110102418

For your 70, the trans #'s could begin with 911/xx or 915/xx. Check also the pattern of the gears. The 901 transmission's had Reverse in the upper left, 1st on the bottom left. On the 915, it is 1st in the upper left and reverse in the bottom right.
