Well it was a pretty cool day at Road America, here are some pictures for you to enjoy, Mike you have a beautiful 68, in fact it was one of the best originaly looking cars I have seen in a long time. Mike send me a pm with your address and I will send you the seat belt hoop to replace your strange aftermarket one!

Jon W.

Chuck Beck showed up with the crew with their 904s and my god whatever they did to the exhausts on those things they are absolutely incredible. Sadly they were not interested in chatting to a lowly SC Driver whatever.... cool cars though. Some really neat people to chat with and some well... not so friendly nature of the beast i guess! Enjoy the pictures.

There was a beautiful RSR clone there, I walked up to the guy and commented on his car, then proceeded to ask about his really neat looking Sport Seat Replica's "they were obviously fakes" and I asked him who made those sport seats was it GTS or ?? he looked at me muttered something and walked away .. Guess the replica seats are a little sore spot, I wish I knew who made em because they looked fantastic.

So many neat Astons in one spot, probably 20+ all different years and all different conditions. Everyone one of them were beautiful!

Ford Gt40 and The Ford Gt
My god It has been years since I've heard a GT40 running it is a sound that everyone should be able to hear and experience at least once.

Freaking awesome seeing a the GT40 and the FordGT side by side, the original is stunning and the new one takes it to an entire new level. Whoever did the design and engineering the the GT should be designing all of Fords models who knows mabey they could actually be profitable again. There were a bunch of mustangs littered throughout the show however every time I saw a new one I couldn't help but chuckle hahah live axel way to go ford!

There were Jags, MGs, Alfas, however Porsche was probably the most prominent make. But the new Lambo Supperlagerra or whatever its called is pretty damn neat! Great sound!!

Wrap Up!

I have had my doubts with Porsche for the past few years, I gotta tell ya that I kept going back to the new GT3RS thinking that is one of the best looking Porsche's ever.

For the first time ever most of my favorite cars were New !!

The Porsche GT3RS
Aston Martin Vanquish
The Ford GT

All three of them are just beautiful in an old sort of way yet so new and modern.

The 67S was just incredible, it's one of those cars that is so perfect in every way, the Beige color w/white interior. Thats probably my favorite car of the show, I used to just go all nuts over the Carrera RS , sadly theres just too many replicas that just ruin it for me. Don't get me wrong I still love them but when you see 3-4 lined up together and you can't really tell which one is the real one you quickly walk away and look at the car that stands out in the crowd.

There was a really neat Oxford Blue 72 E Targa that was really neat just a nice simple driver older restoration but it was a sharp car.

Also there was a guy whose name I forgot from Chicago who also had a beautiful car, it was a Rosewood SC coupe that was unbelievably beautiful it had Jason Cullen Sport Seats which were stunning.

On the non- Porsche Front, I've always like Astons but never really loved them until now, and again it's a new car, but my god a Blood Orange Vanquish has got to be one of the best looking cars ever made.

The Jaguar owners well were never around their cars so there was not much conversation to be had, they were all at the mobil bars grabbing a pint!

I also caught a 944 Owner smoking a joint, that was pretty funny. I think he's a pelican too!

It was also amazing seeing and hearing about the distance some of the cars came from, California, Texas, Canada, Florida. I think almost every state was represented!

Met quite a few pelicans and drove up with some more, pleasure meeting you guys!

Jon W.

Too bad the Egos couldn't stay at home, when the cars come out. It would really make a stellar event even better. However I will say that Every Pelican I met were all stand up guys, except for well... that one guy ahem MR. FAKE SPORT SEATS. you know who you are.. .. .. Oh yeah and if your gonna boast to some passerby's regarding the cost of your 60K resto replica at least throw some real ones in there!! heheh Jk..

Hi Jon,

Thanks for posting the photos of the event on Saturday. Mine is the Tangerine Carrera next to your favorite, the Viper Green GT3 RS. There were certainly some really nice cars but also some strange entries too. The weather held out for the weekend which was a real plus. Did you get out the track? Good stuff out there too but the entry list was down from the previous years I have been to the event. Thanks again.

Yeah I spent some time looking at your car, it was a beauty!
Sadly I was there too late for the tracking but thats ok I saw some of the cars run and most importantly I was able to see some of the cars up close.

Mabey next time I can go for a ride please . thats all just a ride, I've sadly never had a ride in a real RS and tangerine being my favorite early P Car color.

Jon,

Thanks for the compliments.......that was my brown (Rosewood Metallic) SC. I'm sure that your seats will turn out just like mine.....Jason Cullen doesn't turn out just an OK product.....just always the best. You'll enjoy doing business with him. A number of people liked the exhaust system on my car and inquired. SSIs and one of Ben's new Gen5 sport mufflers.....perfect combination of a nice mellow tone and a dash of hooliganism when you put your foot into it. Thank you , Ben.

Steve

Steve I would have to agree, I spent some time driving behind you and your car sounded fantastic, SSIs and the Gen 5 MK is a fantastic combo.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the complements on the RS. I recently had the aging paint brought back to life with a professional color sanding and buffing. I am really pleased with how it turned out. In the last photo, I am standing with my hand on my right hip. Too bad we didn't meet while you were there.

I would be glad to give you a ride some time. I hope you will have your 911 hotrod up there next year so I can check it out. Sounds like a cool car.

I think I should take off the ducktail next year and put on an aluminum rear lid so it will stand out from all the clones.
