alter/regulator premature brush wear?
hello all again wondering if there may be a way of making the brushes on my internal regulator on alternator last a little longer....I have a 83sc and my regulator prob. only 2yrs old and one brush is quite differently worn than the other....Is there a grease or lube i can put on the copper coil of the alternator to let the brushes slide easier or am i just gonna have to eat it and replace it every 2-3 yrs???? thks damian

No grease on the rings!!! Sounds like the person that rebuilt it last either did not turn the rings or seat the brushes or both.
