Porsches 2 Oxford update
![]() THE FOURTH ANNUAL PORSCHES 2 OXFORD EVENT DATE: Saturday, July 26, 2008. WEB SITE: http://www.porsches2oxford.com A few people over the last week or two have asked me how things were shaping up for this year's event. Here's some information to everyone up to speed... REGISTRATIONS As of today, we have over 250 pre-registered cars for the July 26th event. Quite frankly we are blown away by the continued, loyal dedication of the attendees. So we're a full 40% ahead of the record pace set last year when we attracted a total of 255 cars. Given the ridiculous gas prices, it really is amazing how many people are hell-bent on getting to P2O one way or another. Much of the increased registrations can be attributed to more focused advertising and the great feature article on the March edition of Panorama. If you have not pre-registered yet, I would suggest doing so at your earliest convenience. And, there are still plenty of places to stay overnight should you decide to drive in on Friday. Check the P2O site for details on accommodations. To pre-register your car for $20, which include a t-shirt and poster and goodie bag, go here: http://www.porsches2oxford.com/links/registration/registration-validate.php SPONSORS Major sponsors have been finalized. Griot's Garage returns for their third year in a row, along with Beechmont Porsche out of Cincinnati. Our third major sponsor is Autobahn Extremist from Rocky River,OH (toward Cleveland). They are a great Porsche tuner shop that does everything from oil changes to building a track specific race car for you (they even warranty race engines!). Taj Kreuzers Speedfest Charities returns for the second year as Trophy Sponsor for the Top-35 and specialty awards. Win a brick! PCA NATIONAL PCA National President Prescott Kelly plans to attend again this year. He even registered a 912 for the event, so I'm not sure if he plans to drive it from Connecticut or not. SUNDAY ROAD RALLY Scenic Road Rallies LLC is once again organizing the Sunday road rally for all interested parties. The fun tour with friendly competitions travels through Ohio and Indiana and through much of Hueston Woods State Park. A separate fee is charged for the rally. http://www.scenicroadrallies.com/downloads/2008PorschestoOxfordRoadRally.pdf Last edited by UDPride; 07-11-2008 at 07:30 AM.. |

Not sure if I'll have my car there this year. I still have to get the engine back in. It'll be a last minute thing for me. Either way, if Jose (islandflyer), the owner of the Nouget Brown 911 above goes I may ride with him if he'll let me.

I got the engine in and started it today. I just need to do some final tuning and put the rear bumper back on so I'll be there. I just registered.

I suggest we do the Pelican sticker on the dash again like we did last year. I know Jose (islandflyer) still has his home made printout so he'll probably use that.

![]() Erik, the only performance upgrade was the K27-7200 turbo and the TiAL 46mm wastegate (is that a performance upgrade?). The rest was needed maintenance. Remember how bad the oil leaks were?

You get one every time you order parts from Pelican. I just went to see if I had an extra and realized I don't have any! I guess I'll be doing the home made job like Jose.

Well I'm certainly curious now...
![]() Edit: OK, wait...do you mean because it's "not a 911" or do you mean because it's got a Chevy motor or something?
