Fuel Line Leak

When I got out of my car yesterday I smelled gas. I had a look around and didn't see anything. Today I started the fuel pump and found a leak in the bottom line in the fuel filter.

I guess I need to replace this line - probably all of them. For now, I'd like to cut a 1/2" or so off the line and refit it until I get a new one. Is this OK to do? Thanks.

Here's a pic of the old line and the filter.

Curiosity got the better of me. I cut the line about 3/4" down and tried to refit it. It might fit if I give it a little elbow grease but looking at piece I cut, it appears that the end is flanged out a bit (ie. the end that fits onto the filter appears to have a slightly larger diameter than the end going to the MFI.

Can anyone tell me if the flange is from stretching over time or by design? I have read other threads where folks purchased long lengths of replacement fuel lines so that suggests to me that there is not a designed flange at the end of the fuel line.

All tight fitting rubber hoses will swell, dry, harden and crack over time.
This was a lucky warning, hose material is cheap replace them all.
