Seat belt reel won't retract?

While installing my DAS rollbar I accidently triggered the inertia locks on the seatbelt reel. Any idea how to fix them so they retract once again?

Thanks,
Dan

the locks engage anytime the car is a few degrees out of level. (Or, if the belt spool is not in the intended orientation to gravity) The mechanism is simply a SS marble that sits in a bowl shaped perch. when the marble moves, it rides up the bowl and activates a lever with teeth that jams the belt spool.

If you have removed the spools from their mounting locations, you will either have to remount them, or mimic their orientation to the ground by slowly rotating them in your hand. Once correct orientation is achieved, if the belts will not retract, a few taps to unlock the marble should reset the lock.

The front belts are mounted vertically. The rear ones are mounted in all sorts of locations.

Good luck.
