fuel pump check valve question - SC

im confused about this part. looking at Wayne's 101 book and the Bentley book, has not made things more clear. I may have a problem with the check valve and accumulator.

Does the SC have a separate check valve that can be replaced? The bentley book suggests that it does, though its very vague. the 101 book does not indicate either way best that i can tell

many threads on this site mention that some pumps have internal, some are external and allow the check valve to be replaced separately.

Even more confusing is that i dont find a fuel pump check valve listed in the Pelican catalog for a 1983, and even further confusing is that the picture of the fuel pump in the Pelican catalog does not appear to have an external check valve unlike the photo in the Bentley book and even the photo of the fuel pump in the 101 book

Can someone please educate me before I spend money on the wrong part?

Thanks

On my 81, I believe the check valve screws into the fuel pump and it looks like its actually a part of the pump, although I think you can unscrew it from the end of the pump and replace it separately instead of doing the whole pump.

When I bought a new fuel pump, it came with a new check valve already screwed into the end of it so I killed two birds with one stone.

I'm pretty sure you can remove the pump, remove and and replace the check valve. Make sure you get new crush rings.
