Turn Signal LED and wiring

Yo - so I removed my front bumper and discovered why people hate the turn signal wiring so much. Have some connectors on order to splice them in but anyway. When I opened up my turn signal housing I noticed the entire setup with the bulb is garbage and also brittle. Instead of buying an entirely new housing I was thinking of getting the LED turn signal panel from Spokeworks. I noticed it’s set up to connect directly to the bulb housing but I was wondering if anyone had just removed the reflector altogether and just wired it directly in? Seems a much simpler way to do it.

I am in the middle of doing that on my 6 speed conversion, Spokeworks says there is no problem with direct connection to the wiring as opposed to the socket dummy that comes with them.

I am actually going to permanently connect them on the theory that the LED boards will last the life of the car and no need to retain the option of putting in an incandescent bulb.

They'll be using crimp on connectors with heat shrink protection.
