New server joins us...

After struggling with speed problems on the forums here, I decided to try an experiment to move searches off of the main server and onto an alternative one. The searches previously were making the forums very slow. This new server should make things run faster, although it's somewhat untested, so I'm not 100% sure how it will be...

In Texas, I do not notice any slow response time on the forums, but I am on very early before the work day starts usually. Thanks for making this resourse available. Without the forums I would not have had a clue as to how to build the RSR-look in Viper green that I just finished and had a successful weekend on the track.

Making it easier for us to find what we need.
You would almost think you wanted us to buy more stuff....no..wait....I see it now...it's all a plot!
Grats....and keep up the good work.

The new server, for me at least, makes the forums more responsive when just browsing and the search appears faster as well.

It's 3pm here so morning there, seems faster but will see what it's like later. Good work whatever happens Wayne.

So far running well. Over the last few months I was definitely getting tired of waiting for screens to open up!

I understand nothing about this except that Wayne is spending cash on my addiction and for this I am grateful.

Regards,

Scott

Yep...100% improvement...

Thanks for the feedback. 12 hours later and the main server is doing great!

I had a problem with the search results page repeatedly reloading until I hit the 'stop' button on IE6. Never happened before - related?

Christien 07-30-2008 12:19 PM

It does seem faster today - thanks! This site's been painfully slow as of late. I usually chalk it up to crappy wireless, but even on my office computer (which is a wired connection) it's been hanging a lot.

edit: the slowness seemed to be at its worst when my hands were covered in grease, trying to find answers to problems! :D

What's with all the double posting? Happened to me yesterday, and I've seen more than usual # of double posts lately. (No, I did not hit the POST REPLY button twice)

azasadny 07-30-2008 03:40 PM

Wayne,
Thanks for everything!!

cl8ton 07-30-2008 05:56 PM

Wayne 962 07-31-2008 10:08 PM

Still working well?

It's smoking fast now, Wayne!

Thanks for the upgrades and new server.

One comment, I do have trouble when browsing using a Mac Book Pro running Tiger (OS) and using Safari (browser), but I think that is more of an Apple problem then yours. :D

Brillo 08-01-2008 08:57 AM

Thanks Wayne!
