Hose from hreat exchanger to control box

While working on rear suspension on my 86 Carrera I was under the car looking up at parts when I noticed the large hoses from the heat exchanger that go to the control boxes are not on all the way, matter infact they only go over about 2/3 of the opening at the heat exchanger. They look sorta stretched so I am thinking of replacing with new ones. When I look them up here it shows 2 sizes for an 86 Carrera. Its either a 300 or a 330 mm hose, whats up with that and how do I know which it is or if the ones in there are the wrong sizes and thats why they don't fit correcly? Not much room there to get an accurate measurement so thought I'd ask the pros here if they had experience with this and why the difference. I do have AC so wonder if that might contribute to the larger size hose but I don't think the heater hoses have anything to do with the AC as far as I can tell. Still working my way to making the car 100% if thats possible.

"...I noticed the large hoses from the heat exchanger that go to the control boxes..."

I read your post and could not find the hoses you mention. I assumed you were talking about the flex hoses shown here--part number 930-211-622-01-M260--(about 2/3 way down the page):

Is that correct? If so, I could not locate the difference in size that you mentioned. If this is not the hose you refer to, could you post the link to the part?

Yes those are the ones. Why the different sizes for the same year/model.

Now I'm really confused because I went out jacked up the car and went under there to measure with calipers where the hose fits over the engine side and it comes out to 65 mm which comes out to about 2.5" which looks right. Crap now that I wrote it down they are talking about the length of the hose not the diameter. So if I go longer it should cover both?

Guess we're all talking about the same thing--one size fits all so you should have no problems.
