Maybe you just need some newer carrera seats. The ones in my '86 are the 6 way adjustable and are some of the most comfortable long distance seats I have ever had in any car.

Manual seats?

Get some power seats, infinite adjustability.

I take it that you do not have the Sport Seats. The powered Sport Seats in my car are some of the most comfortable that I have in any of my cars, except for the BMW 750iL. Good luck with the hunt for some comfortable seats!! Tony.

If you swap power sport seats for manual seats are the connectors and/or wires and power existing under the seat to connect to? If not is it a big deal to find the right power under the seats?

I have seen many times that the wiring harness is intact for many items that are not installed on the car. That way they just have one harness to install wile it is moving down the assembly line, and if it gets an option, it is able to be plugged in, and if it does not receive a particular option, most time the harness has the connectors and wiring in place. So it might just be a "plug-n-play" deal for you. Good luck!! Tony.

Passenger

I have manual seats for my passenger seat, but I still have the power connectors under the seat (the one with 8 holes) so a power seat can be used if I was to swap it out. Just look under your seat and see if there is a cord with a connector at the end sticking out of the carpeting.

Some (without existing connections) have just run wires from the battery (w/ inline fuse) to the seats.

I recently picked up an 85 Carrera w factory sport seats. Drove 100 miles to and 100 miles from an autoX in the same day and loved them.

Sat in some aftermarket Recaro two pice seats years ago and they were wonderful.

Seats are a personal thing. What I like you may not.
When the seat and I get broken in to each other I find it hard to enjoy the fit of another.
